In order to preserve continuity across interactions with the company, I was tasked with designing the user interface for Nine Technology's desktop/server client application. Because their business model is one based on service-provider partners, branding had to work on two levels: the partner logo underpinned with the 'powered by nine' logo, and the rest of the visual language referencing back to the Nine Technology brand.

After developing the identity for Nine Technology it was time for a web presence. Since their solution for online backup and recovery is so unique, the concept of fitting the puzzle pieces together seemed fitting. Using Drupal as the back-end allows the client tremendous flexibility even in redefining the pieces of the puzzle itself: each one is its own piece of content, so new artwork, text and the underlying slide are all pulled directly from the content management system.

Helped refine naming concepts, tagline, logo and brand identity. With the company being brand-new with highly advanced technology it was important to provide a strong concept that felt both new and familiar. Strong typographical contrast is accentuated with bold color, underpinned with a subtle reference to the digital technology they provide. Rather than utilize a more-often seen reference to the "five 9's" of reliability, I chose to incorporate a stylized rendition of the number 9 in binary format under the word itself.
